Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the MoneyWise Tools website, calculators, account features, saved calculations, and paid subscription features (collectively, the "Service"). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. Educational tools; no professional advice
MoneyWise Tools provides general educational and informational tools only. The Service does not provide personalized financial, investment, tax, legal, accounting, credit, lending, insurance, or other professional advice. MoneyWise Tools is not a financial adviser, broker, lender, bank, tax preparer, law firm, or accounting firm. No fiduciary, advisory, professional, or client relationship is created by your use of the Service.
2. Calculator results and estimates
Calculator outputs, projections, payoff dates, amortization schedules, percentages, affordability indicators, tax-related estimates, savings estimates, and other results are estimates based on the information you enter and the assumptions used by the applicable tool. Results may be incomplete, inaccurate, outdated, or different from actual outcomes. Rates, taxes, fees, laws, market conditions, lender rules, and personal circumstances can change. You are responsible for verifying important calculations and information before making a financial or other decision.
3. Accounts and security
You are responsible for providing accurate account information, maintaining the confidentiality and security of your login credentials, and for activity occurring through your account. You must promptly take reasonable steps to secure your account if you believe it has been accessed without authorization.
4. Saved information
The Service may allow signed-in users to save calculator inputs and results. Saved information is provided for convenience and should not be treated as a permanent record, backup service, or system of record. You should keep your own copies of information that is important to you.
5. Premium subscriptions, billing, and cancellation
Certain features may require a paid subscription. The current subscription price and billing interval are shown before purchase. Payments are processed by a third-party payment processor, currently Stripe. By purchasing a subscription, you authorize recurring charges according to the plan displayed at checkout until you cancel.
You may cancel a subscription to stop future recurring charges. Unless otherwise stated at checkout or required by law, cancellation takes effect at the end of the then-current paid billing period and fees already paid are non-refundable. We may change pricing or plan features prospectively, with notice when required by applicable law.
6. Acceptable use
You may use the Service only for lawful purposes. You may not attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service or another user's account or data; interfere with the operation or security of the Service; introduce malicious code; abuse, scrape, or overload the Service in a manner that disrupts it; or use the Service to violate applicable law or the rights of others.
7. Intellectual property
The Service, including its original site design, software, text, branding, and other content, is owned by MoneyWise Tools or its licensors and is protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. These Terms give you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the Service for its intended purpose; they do not transfer ownership of the Service or its content to you.
8. Third-party services
The Service relies on third-party providers for functions such as hosting, authentication/database services, and payment processing. Those services may be governed by their own terms and privacy policies. MoneyWise Tools is not responsible for a third party's independent acts, services, availability, or policies.
9. Service availability and changes
We may modify, suspend, discontinue, or restrict all or part of the Service, including features, at any time. We do not guarantee uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or permanent availability, or that saved data will never be lost.
10. Disclaimer of warranties
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF ACCURACY, RELIABILITY, MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. Nothing in these Terms excludes a warranty or right that cannot lawfully be excluded.
11. Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, MONEYWISE TOOLS AND ITS OWNERS, OPERATORS, AFFILIATES, AND SERVICE PROVIDERS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS, REVENUE, SAVINGS, DATA, OR BUSINESS OPPORTUNITIES, ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE SERVICE, RELIANCE ON CALCULATOR RESULTS, OR LOSS OF SAVED INFORMATION.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE TOTAL LIABILITY OF MONEYWISE TOOLS FOR CLAIMS ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID TO MONEYWISE TOOLS DURING THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM OR (B) $100. These limitations do not apply where applicable law does not permit them.
12. Indemnification
To the extent permitted by law, you agree to indemnify and hold harmless MoneyWise Tools and its owners and operators from third-party claims, liabilities, damages, and reasonable costs arising from your unlawful misuse of the Service or your violation of these Terms.
13. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, except where applicable consumer law requires otherwise. Any dispute not subject to a mandatory legal venue will be brought in a court of competent jurisdiction in New York.
14. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The effective date above will be updated when the Terms change. Continued use of the Service after updated Terms become effective constitutes acceptance to the extent permitted by law.
15. Severability and entire agreement
If a provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in effect to the extent permitted by law. These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and Financial Disclaimer, form the agreement governing your use of the Service.
